And people assume the worst

When leaders don’t respond, people don’t assume everything is OK. They don’t even assume neutrality.

They assume displeasure or risk.

So they fill the gap with safer behaviour, smaller ideas and lower ambition. And stress that reduces effectiveness and creativity.

What you don’t say trains the system as much as what you do say.
