For that person you know who’s had a tough year
...and that person of course, might be you...

Hello all

Grayson — my youngest — is absolutely done with this term.
Not in an “I hate school” way. He genuinely loves it.
But he’s like a lot of his friends right now: tired, drained, and just not quite the version of himself he was in September.
It’s nothing dramatic; Just… the slow fade you notice when you really know someone.
And it struck me how easy that is to spot in kids, and how hard it is to see in adults.
Kids tend to wear their tiredness out loud while a lot of adults carry it quietly.
They keep performing, keep coping, keep holding everything together while slowly drifting away from themselves.
You probably know someone like this.
Someone who’s been:
• worn down
• doubting themselves
• not quite “them” anymore
Not because they lack resilience or because they are “weak” but because the system around them has been asking too much of them for too long — their energy, their empathy, their weekends, small compromises to their values.
And they’ve given it, because that’s who they are.
That’s what conscientious people do.
Until it costs more than they realise.
A pattern I’ve noticed lately…
Over the past month, I’ve had quite a few messages from people who’ve gifted Calm REBEL Leadership to friends or colleagues who needed a lift.
Someone who’s been struggling quietly, someone who’s drifted further from who they are than they meant to.
Someone who needed a reminder that they’re not broken or failing and that there’s a way back to themselves.

If someone came to mind just now…
Maybe this is your gentle nudge:
A small check-in.
A message.
A coffee.
Or yes — a book that helps them reconnect with who they are underneath all the noise.
Sometimes it’s the small gestures that land the deepest.
If you want to share Calm REBEL Leadership with someone who’s had a tough year…
And if YOU are that person this year…
Then here’s my reminder to you…
You don’t have to lead like them.
You don’t have to sell-out to survive.
You don’t have to disappear into a system you’re trying so hard to improve.
There’s a quieter, more grounded way back to yourself.
And I hope this space helps you find it.
Cheers

P.S. if you missed it then I’m looking for people to join me in a pilot of a six-month coaching circle around Calm REBEL Leadership.
This will be a regular set of coaching sessions with a small group of other values-les leaders focused on the steps in the Calm REBEL Arc to help you reclaim your authentic leadership.
If you are curious about starting the new year with fresh impetus you can register your interest here.
